Posted On: 04/17/2019

Music City is revved up to host NASCAR Champion’s Week and the annual Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards. This is an entire week of events geared to celebrate the racing postseason and formally crown the series champion. Nashville was selected as the new host city for the event scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019, at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville.

The formal postseason NASCAR Awards have been a tradition since 1981, and have been held in Las Vegas since 2009. Besides the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards, typical events at NASCAR Champion’s Week include NASCAR NMPA Myers Brothers Awards and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Awards Red Carpet. And fans can attend! Dates and locations will be announced for these and other events, as we get closer to the awards.

NASCAR and Nashville have a long history together. The Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville hosted 42 Cup races between 1958-1984. Speedway Motorsports Inc. has also recently struck a deal with the Fairgrounds Speedway that could pave the way for NASCAR’s return pending approval by Nashville officials.

Nashville’s energetic and vibrant entertainment scene has been attracting events from all over the world including the recent NFL Draft 2019! What’s next for Nashville?
